  1. How are palm trees and rice paddies getting people to think Douro? (Or maybe its my eyes deceiving me…)

  2. Pretty sure these are the Batad Rice Terraces, a few miles from Banaue.

Waiting for Lucky to haul himself to the Batad Terraces… but doubt he will as you can’t earn points at the guesthouses there…

  3. I’ll guess Uganda, even though it seems a consensus has already been reached. There are definitely some terraces there that look similar to this.

  4. Definately the Banaue rice terraces in Luzon, northern Philippines – although there are similar ones all over the Sagada region

  5. If you hop over the low ridge at the bottom right of the photo and hike down for about 25 minutes, there is a spectacular waterfall.

But northwesterner is right – there are only very basic guesthouses there right now, although sadly they are blasting a road into this pristine valley and it may cease to be such a secluded, special place.

  6. Looks like the Batad Rice Terraces in Banaue, Philippines. I was there more recently than Bali and the town does not look Balinese to me.
