Hello from the Park Hyatt Saadiyat Island!

Hello from the Park Hyatt Saadiyat Island!

18

Sorry for the lack of updates the past two days, as I’ve actually been quite disconnected while on “holiday” in the UAE. Anyway, here are just a few pictures from the new Park Hyatt Saadiyat Island, before I post the trip report upon my return:

Simply a stunning property. Saadiyat Island also has some of the emptiest beaches I’ve seen at any resort, which is awesome.

Lucky, you have a lot of firstworldproblems, always facing expiring certificates lol. I still don't understand the big deal about suite upgrades. It's nice but wouldn't to out of my way for it. I guess it's your job to stay at the top of the top though.

    @ Michael

Dubai is one of 7 emirates within the UAE, it's not a country. Sharjah is the only emirate which is completely dry, the others have alcohol to varying degrees.

    @ Michael -- UAE isn't dry.

That's $272 a night - pretty good value for that spectacular suite - is Dubai a dry country by the way?

@ dmodemd @ Michael -- The rate was 1,000AED. Not cheap, but seemed worthwhile to use an expiring suite upgrade.

  6. Michael Guest

    Ben,

What rate did you pay and did you use a suite upgrade cert?

  7. dmodemd Guest

...so it was a paid stay... what kind of deal did you get?

  8. Zz Guest

Put on your speedos and get into that salty water.

@ JetAway -- I hired a driver through the hotel (I was leaving the Grosvenor House Dubai), and it cost about $100. Seemed worthwhile compared to renting a car.

Saadiyat Island itself is still very much developing, though it's less than 20 minutes from Abu Dhabi, where there's lots of sightseeing to do.

Did you drive there or hire a driver? If you hired a driver, how did you do it and what was the cost? Looks like the perfect Winter getaway spot but is there enough to do in the area?

  11. lucky OMAAT

@ Thanh -- Suite indeed, as I used one of my Diamond confirmed suite upgrades for the stay.

I'd imagine these are pictures of a suite? How's the upgradability for non-celebrity-blogger folks? :D

@ Zzzzz -- It's actually quite cool, almost a bit too cold for the beach. Has been a steady 65-70 degrees. Absolutely perfect coming from Seattle. :)

@ Carl -- It's located maybe 20 minutes by car from Abu Dhabi. Drove there from Dubai, and it's about an hour drive.

    @ wwk5d -- Yep, sure did. See here: https://onemileatatime.com/first-look-at-the-new-park-hyatt-abu-dhabi/

Didn't you take a tour of this property while you visited the UAE last time?

  15. Ed C Guest

Don't remember what was on the initinary for the Hyatt Do but hopefully this is one of them

  16. Carl Guest

Where is it located and how do you get there?

  17. Zzzzz Guest

Awesome! Couldn't agree with you more. What about the heat/weather there? How bad is it?

Lucky you should pay a visit to the Emirates palace hotel managed by kempinsky, well its Burj el arab in another dimension.
