Last day to apply for the British Airways Visa with 100,000 mile sign-up bonus

Just a quick reminder that today is the last day to apply for the British Airways Visa under their current 100,000 mile sign-up bonus, offering 50,000 miles after the first purchase and an additional 50,000 miles after $2,500 of spend within three months.

If your credit can handle it and you haven’t applied for it yet, this is one offer you should definitely take advantage of.

  1. It’s a great offer, just so long as people are aware of the fuel surcharges, UK departure taxes, etc that need to be paid if you want to use the miles on BA. The BA Flyertalk board gets a ton of posts with people who got miles through Chase, and then were shocked to find that they needed to pay not inconsiderable amounts of money to use them on BA, when they expected to be able to fly fro free. They are fantastic for CX to Asia though.

  2. Ben, if you had that BA ad or referal link on your site I would apply through you. Why didn’t you get that ad put on your site? Instead, they are advertising some other Chase cards on your site.

  3. @ hobo13 — The consensus seems to be that the card isn’t churnable, no matter how hard you try.

@ H — Agreed, though even the Cathay fuel surcharges are hefty. I booked an award for someone yesterday on Cathay Pacific, and the taxes/fuel surcharges were over $400 roundtrip for a first class award to Bali. Still a great deal, in my opinion, though not as good as when the cost was half that.

@ John — Thanks for the feedback. Sadly I don’t handle the advertising aspect of the blog, as it’s done through Boarding Area. That being said, I’m pretty sure I provide them a lot more feedback than they’d ever like, and I’ll pass this on as well. I think it would make a lot of sense if we actually had referral links to the offers we’re promoting. Gracias!

  4. Just booked 2 ow AMS-IAD in 1st w/ free stop over n London using miles earned on this promotion – we each got cards. Knew about surcharges which topped $1k, but still nice <$600 ticket in new 1st on 747. Out bound with UA in 1st for only $10 and less miles (67.5k v. 75k pp) both very good value for miles v. paid tckt. Now just need to wait until April 2012 to enjoy 🙂
