Double elite qualifying miles and redeemable miles on American between DFW and LAX/SFO (targeted)

American is offering residents of California and Texas double elite qualifying miles and redeemable miles for nonstop flights taken between Dallas/Fort Worth and Los Angeles and Dallas/Fort Worth and San Francisco through August 31, 2011. Only flights booked on or after April 7 qualify for the promotion, and you must register using code DEQSL.

Only roundtrip tickets are eligible, and while you can tack on other segments, you must have a “mirror” routing, it seems. In other words, if you have an itinerary from San Francisco to Dallas to Tampa to Dallas to San Francisco you would get double miles for the flights between Dallas and San Francisco, while you wouldn’t if you flew something like San Francisco to Dallas to Tampa to Dallas to Los Angeles to San Francisco.

I’m still dreaming of a good old systemwide double elite qualifying miles promotions with no restrictions…

  1. @ Floyd — Ouch! It’s probably worth registering anyway just in case, as I’ve heard AA’s systems are occasionally not all that savvy when it comes to dates.

  2. I have not been able to book this. Says the promotion code is invalid. But I registered and it said I was registered. ?
