  1. Lucky – I see two errors in your article.

    1. HHonors Points & Points is commonly misinterpreted in the way you did. In June 2008 I contacted InsideFlyer about mistakes in their hotel loyalty program comparisons and goldpoints plus regarding the HHonors calculation on their http://www.Dothemathsite.com regarding this same calculation error.

HHonors base points are always 10 points per dollar regardless of your earning preference Points & Points or Points & Miles.

Points & Points = 10 base points + 5 bonus points per dollar.
Elite Bonus is based on base points.

Diamond member earning preference of Points & Points:
    10 base points + 5 bonus points (Points & Points) + 5 bonus points (Diamond elite bonus) = 20 points/$1, not 22.5 points/$1

This also changes the hotel spend to earn 100,000 base points to $10,000.

    2. Marriott Rewards changed their internet policy last month to provide complimentary internet worldwide for Gold and Platinum members.

And Marriott’s elite rollover makes elite status a much easier task for some members. Although this is probably easier for members earning Gold than Platinum.

  2. Hey~~

Awesome, informative article. I was wondering if you have any insight into the Shangri-la Golden Circle program for people frequently traveling in Asia? Also, do you know if Mandarin Oriental has any unpublished loyalty program?
