Hilton to offer Gold and Diamond members free internet

Per Fly Gracefully:

Hilton Worldwide is pleased to announce that beginning September 1, 2010, all Gold and Diamond HHonors members will receive complimentary high-speed internet access during their stay at all 3,600 hotels within the Hilton Worldwide portfolio of brands.

As a Diamond member, you don’t have to do anything except enjoy your complimentary high-speed internet at all your future stays at our 10 distinct hotel brands. We will change your current My Way benefit from high-speed internet to a room upgrade request.

No doubt Hilton was feeling the pressure on this one. This makes Hilton ever-so-slightly more competitive, though they’re still light years behind Hyatt.

  1. What a joke. For the rates Hilton charges, there’s no excuse not to provide ALL rooms with “free” internet. If Days Inn can do it, I bet Hilton can, too.

  2. True Brian, but who wants the clientele that Motel 6 draws? I think it should be free to gold and diamond, everyone else can pay.

  3. this is stupid…for business travelers, wifi can be expensed, so this yields no real benefit to the traveler
