Delta eliminates some award ticket fees

Delta has eliminated some fees on award tickets (and increased other fees). The good news is that they’re no longer charging fees on award tickets, including the close-in ticketing fees. Furthermore, in the past Delta Platinum members received two award redeposit/reissue fee waivers, which has now been lifted to allow an unlimited number of changes for free. The only bad news is that the reissue and redeposit fees have been increased to $150 (from $100) for everyone else.

All around good news, though!

  1. Very good news here about the fees being one who almost always books award tix on short notice! Also, glad to see they plan to fix the horrid award booking engine – Perhaps they’ve been listening to their customers finally! Lets just hope low mileage availability improves also…

  2. Too little, too late. This one time NW Plat fell to Gold last year, and is now on the fast track to GM. Face it Delta, you chased away a lot of your best customers. And this does virtually nothing for me now.

  3. Nice to see the ticket cancellation fee go away on Delta. Otherwise, the program stinks with a lack of award tickets and I am jumping ship and moving my flying to AA and UA in 2011.
