Reduced saver coach awards to South America

Similar to the Europe award sale, United is offering coach awards to South America for a mere 40,000 miles for travel booked by May 24 and completed by August 31. Full terms and conditions can be found here.

While it is winter in South America, this is still a great deal. Always check revenue fares first, but I find that fares vary wildly for South America, with the lowest fare being anywhere between $400 and $1,000+ depending on your origin and when you book.

  1. with there were some better paid fares, so i can do some MRs theres. Hard to do a good petro drop run when the YQ is only $76.

  2. Wait.. UA only flies to 3 locations in South America, right? If they offered this on partners so I could get to SCL, BOG, or other cities, I’d jump all over it!

  3. @ Sam — I agree. I’ve never been to South America, and I’d love to go. While I probably won’t do this award, it really isn’t that bad of a deal. Coach shouldn’t be that bad since there’s no real time change.

@ bmvaughn — Correct, they only fly to EZE, GRU, and GIG, and this isn’t valid for partners.
