Thanks Hyatt and InterContinental!

Nothing beats some good competition in these tough economic times. Hyatt announced free internet for their elite members earlier in the week, and now InterContinental has matched, although only at about a third of their properties. It’s interesting to look at the participating properties, as they’re generally the ones that are generous with elite benefits, while the stingy ones aren’t on the list. Nonetheless, both Ambassadors and Royal Ambassadors will get this benefit at select properties, which makes Ambassador status even more of a steal at $150/year (and $100 to renew each year).

My money is on Hilton, Marriott, and maybe Starwood matching within the next week.
