Tomorrow is the big day!

Ah, finally. Spring Break is here which means I get to do a bit of “real” travel. Tomorrow morning we’re flying from Tampa to Dallas and then Dallas to Toronto on American in first/business class. Then we’ll spend the afternoon in Toronto, and finally we’ll be on the Cathay Pacific redeye to Hong Kong in first class. Gotta love American Airlines award availability!

I can’t even say how excited I am at this point. In general I hate the thought of yet another redeye, but I have a feeling that this 16 hour flight in a suite won’t be too bad. In a way I’m looking forward to the fact that it’s a redeye after my tortorous Las Vegas flight a couple of weeks ago.

As of now there’s only one other person booked in first class on YYZ-HKG, and due to the cabin layout we’ll hopefully never know s/he is there. I’ll be providing updates throughout the trip (including a few pictures), and the “real” trip report will follow shortly thereafter. Yes, that’s the 20,000 word, 300 picture report in which I describe everything, from the placement of the forks on the tray table to the size of the glassware. 😉

  1. Thanks Gene, I’ll do my best to provide as many updates as possible.

    Stevie, even better. 😀

True, Eric. I guess my point is that I’ll be boarding at midnight and will be exhausted. The only difference is that I’ll have about 11 hours beyond my usual five hour redeyes, and I’ll actually have a bed.
