United to offer wi-fi on United Premium Service flights

It looks like later in the year we’ll be able to purchase in-flight wi-fi on United Premium Service flights between New York and San Francisco/Los Angeles for $12.95. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand the concept of accessing the internet at 37,000 feet is kind of cool, but on the other hand I’m not sure I like what comes with it as far as certain self important business travelers go.

  1. Just flew PS yesterday and was thinking, “damn, it would be great to go read flyertalk right now.” 😉 Can’t wait!

  2. On the flip side, think of all the real-time annoying questions that will get posted:
“Just saw Y pax using F lav, should I complain to FA?”
“Should I push the FA call button to order my fifth drink? She won’t come by!”
“Help quick! Must decide on dinner entree”

    😀
